The Heritage Trail near the Twin Springs area was experiencing bank erosion of the trail foreslope caused by the encroachment of the Little Maquoketa River.  Endeavor Civil Engineering was hired by Dubuque County Conservation to analyze the problem and produce a solution.  The area was in a environmentally sensitive area, so caution had to be exercised while determining the correct solution.  The chosen solution was shaping of the foreslope to a 2:1 slope and placing rip rap on the lower half of the slope.  Also included in the design was a 5 foot wide shoulder for the trail to create a safety barrier between the edge of the trail travel way and the foreslope.  Endeavor Civil Engineering is proud to have helped the County with this stabilization project.
